- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the onions and stir occasionally, until the onions soften.
- Add the cream cheese to the skillet and allow to melt.
- Once the cream cheese is melted, add the cheese and ham, and allow to combine.
- Pour into a baking dish and top with extra cheese and chives.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and started to brown. Serve with crackers or bread.
